We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our medical office team. As a Surgery Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in getting surgery authorizations and coordinating surgical procedures with hospital, insurance, and patient communciation. If you have experience in a medical or dental office setting and possess strong organizational and communication skills, we encourage you to apply.
```Responsibilities```
- Schedule surgical procedures for patients, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals
- Collect and verify patient information, including medical history and insurance details
- Obtaining insurance preauthorization for surgery
- Professional in interacting with transgender patients
- Coordinate pre-operative testing and clearances as required
- Communicate with patients to provide instructions and answer questions regarding their surgery
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records using electronic systems
- Two days a week work the front desk staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
```Skills```
- Experience working in a medical office or dental receptionist role
- Familiarity with scheduling systems and phone systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems (eClinicalWorks, Eaglesoft, Dentrix)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
