Lead Teacher
Position Description:
The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing a daily curriculum that focuses on Christian discipleship, spiritual growth, and educational development for the children in the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and conduct educational, spiritual, and physical activities to support children in their relationship with God and overall growth.
- Report to the Program Director.
- Represent Shepherd of the Heart in the community to promote the program.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Create and implement daily curriculum to enhance social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cognitive growth of children.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment and take initiative in all work situations.
- Provide daily care, including hygiene, learning activities, and positive guidance for children.
- Keep records of classroom activities, attendance, behavior, etc.
- Communicate children's progress to parents through written reports.
- Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times.
- Administer CPR/First Aid in case of emergencies.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Foster open communication with Director, Staff, Students, and Parents.
- Maintain confidentiality of all individuals involved.
- Implement emergency procedures as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of classroom and facility for safety and cleanliness.
- Report any concerning behavior or issues to the Director.
Qualifications / Expectations:
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of two (2) years working with children in group settings.
- Positive Christian attitude and adherence to Christian principles.
- Knowledge of child development and learning milestones.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to physically engage with children, including bending, stooping, running, lifting, and carrying.
- CPR & First Aid certification required (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Clear criminal background check.

- School Year starts August 19th. Position begins August 1st.
- This is a 4-day a week program, Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $14.00 per hour
