Wood Personnel has partnered with an organization whose Nashville location is seeking a Procurement Specialist. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience with procurement, inventory analysis, scheduling and a background in logistics is preferred.
Procurement Specialist Compensation and Hours:
- In Office (No remote options)
- $60-70k depending on experience
- Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Procurement Specialist Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (verifiable degree required)
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related role, with a solid track record of five years in the field
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of supply chain, procurement, and logistics best practices
- Commitment to maintaining high ethical and professional standards
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Procurement Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and sustain relationships with vendors, negotiate contracts, and secure optimal terms and pricing
- Create, review, and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely receipt of materials and services
- Oversee and regulate inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock while minimizing surplus
- Ensure all procured items adhere to quality standards and specifications
- Evaluate pricing, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Keep accurate records of procurement activities, including contracts, invoices, and receipts
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and finance, to meet project requirements
- Quickly identify and resolve procurement-related issues
- Stay updated on industry trends, new suppliers, and cost-effective procurement strategies
- Plan and manage logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution
- Supervise the shipping and receiving process to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Build relationships with carriers and manage transportation contracts to ensure reliable and economical shipping solutions
- Identify potential risks in logistics and supply chain and develop mitigation strategies
