Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Night Shift: 6pm-6am
The primary role of the US Waffle Process Technician is to improve equipment productivity and work quality by ensuring that the process equipment settings and adjustments are optimized and maintained for high through-put and quality with low waste. This role also maintains liaison and coordination between the operations and maintenance organizations. The process technician is the main contact when the process or process equipment is not performing within specifications. The process technician ensures that the plant receives prompt, efficient, and quality service.
o Responsible for building a well-trained team which is passionate about safety, quality, efficiency, and company success.
o Operates, controls, and monitors various process equipment including Chillers, Mixers, Blenders, Depositors, Brushes, Oilers, Air Knives, Ovens, Conveyors, Freezers, Stackers, Robot Stackers, Wrappers, Metal Detectors, Check Weighers, Cartoners, Date Coders, Case Erectors, Case Sealers, and Baggers
o Provides daily coverage of production line processes to ensure smooth and effective operations, including a rapid response to out-of-control processes to minimize cost and maximize productivity Investigates and implements countermeasures to improve product yield.
o Is responsible for line equipment changeovers and adjustments during production runs.
o Works closely with production and scheduling to prepare and set up equipment for future production needs to reduce potential delays and maximize uptime and availability.
o Rotates every other weekend with other process techs to set up, verify, and make ready all production equipment for Monday morning start-up.
o Works closely with the Process Engineering Team to improve processes and reduce waste.
o Proactively cooperate with the quality department to prevent quality incidents, reduction, and elimination of non-conformities in the process and product integrity.
o Performs periodic audits of machine settings, process controls settings, work instructions, manuals throughout the manufacturing lines.
o Identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, profitability, material utilization, and tool usage.
o Assists Maintenance Technicians in installation, debugging, repair and Preventative Maintenance of production equipment.
o Analyzes scrap (analysis of yellow bins) and waste from the process.
o Verifies pre-scale and mixing processes when product is out of conformance.
o Assists with training other process techs when asked to by manager.
o Always wears a radio and is the first contact when the process or process equipment is not performing within specifications.
o Works closely with operators to assist and train them at every opportunity.
o Perform first piece start up date code verification process.
o Participates in 5S and SMED events.
o Generate technical work instructions and SOP’s that will serve as a platform to train operators.
o Work with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Planner to develop and improve PMs.
o Perform related duties as assigned by the manager.
o Provide emergency/unscheduled and scheduled repairs on production equipment during production and during scheduled downtime.
o Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
o Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
o Perform maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
o Working with Maintenance Technicians and Line Leads to meet production deadlines by keeping equipment operating.
o Working with storeroom personnel to order replacement parts.
o Capturing and recording necessary equipment and material history
o Recommending improvement in maintenance and operational procedures

o Maintaining close contact with Production and Maintenance Managers to ensure process activities occur with minimal disruption to production operations.
o Be an advocate for safety, ensuring safety is part of planning and execution of work.
o Notify production lead of any waste issues and/or machine malfunctions.
o Able to work extended hours, available for overtime and weekend work as required.
o Ability to troubleshoot any issues in the mixing operation.

o This position is the liaison between maintenance & operations for identifying and correcting production processes.
o Will work directly with the Maintenance Manager to build a reliable process team.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
· High school degree or equivalent
· Proficient with Microsoft office.
· Basic mathematical skills
*This position is responsible for ensuring that food safety is not compromised while meeting the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing and are responsible to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Pay: $18.00 - $34.56 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
