I&E MECHANIC: Neville Chemical Company is a major manufacturer of Hydrocarbon Resins with a 95 + year history in the industry. Resins are thermoplastic low molecular weight polymers that are used extensively in the formulation of Adhesive and Sealants, Paints and Coatings, Inks, Tire and Industrial Rubber products. Hydrocarbon resins are key components that enhance the process ability and end-use performance of these products.
Neville has a current opening for an I&E Mechanic based at our Neville Island chemical manufacturing facility located 6 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, PA. This position is responsible for day to day maintenance of instrumentation, analyzers, and electrical systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Install, calibrate, inspect, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance and repair instrumentation on process, utility and other equipment as needed.
· Troubleshoot, maintain and adjust all process precision electronic and pneumatic instrumentation used to sense, measure, record and/or display temperature, pressure, flow, level, vacuum, etc.
· Troubleshoot, maintain and adjust all process controllers and process control loop components including sensor, transmitters, converters, valve positioners and actuators, etc.
· Calibrate instruments to coincide with an established standard and maintain test equipment calibration & associated records.
· Inspect all recording instruments periodically and make necessary adjustments to those not functioning properly.
· Rebuild and test pressure gauges and various instrumentation.
· Layout, install and maintain a variety of ordinary electrical and electronic equipment and instruments.
· Wire fairly complicated circuits.
· Rack in/out breakers & switchgear as necessary.
· Troubleshoot plant instrument/electrical and control system problems.
· Consult with manufacturer’s technical service representatives, as needed, to troubleshoot and repair instruments.
· Work from wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School degree or equivalent required
3+ years I&E Mechanic work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Post secondary technical diploma or certification in electronics
Work experience at a chemical manufacturer
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be willing and able to work off shifts and/or weekends
Must be willing and able to work in confined space, close quarters, cramped position, high elevation and climb; along with complying with all safety, health and environmental rules and regulations.
Must be eligible for Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®) clearance.
