Position is on-call, as needed. Evenings, nights and weekends.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position provides direct client services for sexual assault/domestic violence victims, including trauma-informed care, advocacy, intake and referral. Crisis intervention and safety planning with clients, when responding to emergency requests and or needs by clients, over the phone or in-person at the hospital or police station.
WORK HOURS: This position is on-call, as needed. Shifts are 12 hour shifts. 5pm to 5 am and on the weekend 5am to 5pm. May include weeknights and weekends.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 2 years professional experience in a crisis agency. Knowledge of services available in and around Kenosha County preferred. The advocate will be trained to provide crisis intervention, intake processes, information and referral, grounding techniques, and other survivor-centered respones.
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication and organizational skills; cultural competence and ability to interact with various publics; excellent interpersonal skills; must demonstrate professionalism with sound judgment and a high degree of responsibility, particularly as it relates to confidentiality. Reliable automobile with insurance and valid driver’s license required.
