As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for ensuring that our facilities are maintained in accordance with company standards and in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, care, and efficient operation of assigned equipment, and areas within the facility. The maintenance technician will be a team of the Maintenance Team for the Amherst, NH facility which injection molds polymer insulators for utility pole applications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical system problems on production machinery, auxiliary equipment, and fixtures through the production process and facility.
- Conduct assigned preventative maintenance tasks and maintenance work orders assigned through maintenance system and record work orders with notes and/or pictures within maintenance system.
- Implementation of safety and continuous improvement corrective actions with sense of urgency.
- Schedule outside contractors to diagnose and repair equipment when external expertise is needed.
- Execute and update, when needed, lock out/tag out procedures as required on all equipment, including injection molding machines.
- Coach Operation Team members on basic troubleshooting and equipment maintenance where needed with training program(s).
- Maintain documentation of troubleshooting procedures, and maintenance standard work operations where needed.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing technician role within the plastics injection molding or associated industry.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills with detailed orientation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical knowledge of injection molding, assembly, and automated environments.
- Extensive knowledge on the care and use of a wide variety of maintenance, electrical, and hand tools.
- Understanding and interpretation of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Preferred experience with automated production processes such as 3 Axis and 6 Axis Robots, Servo drives, packaging, and conveying equipment.
- Preferred mid-level machining skills.
- Preferred experience in a LEAN Six Sigma manufacturing environment.
