POSITION SUMMARY The Fabrication Superintendent will be primarily responsible for the daily work direction and supervision of fabrication employees as well as the supervision of the maintenance and upkeep of the fabrication facilities and equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work with hands and weld skillfully, accurately read blueprints, as well as demonstrate successful leadership and team building skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
· Direct responsibility for all fabrication work hours and the production schedule with a goal to obtain efficient work steps for each project.
· General supervision of fabrication employees while encouraging a positive and safe work environment
· Work with Fabrication Manager to evaluate and provide training and education to Leadmen and employees of all skill levels.
· Review employees for merit increases – coordinate with Fabrication Manager and Human Resource Officer
· Review time sheet and PTO requests and submit to Fabrication Manager for approval.
· Weekly updates with the Fabrication Project Manager on production schedule status and contract changes.
· Oversee and adhere to the QA/QC standards by identifying problems, provide solutions and confirm resolution.
· Work with Maintenance Manager to develop and update a preventative maintenance and replacement plan for equipment and tools.
· Work with Fabrication Manager to evaluate and implement improvements to the operations of the fabrication facility and equipment.
· Weekly communication and meetings with Fabrication Manager to discuss:
o Project goals
o Facility production and shipping schedules
o Maintenance and upkeep of facility

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
· Minimum 4 years relevant experience required.
· Ability to read blueprints and understand and interpret design tolerances.
· Ability to fabricate, troubleshoot welding and layout.
· Working knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and alloy steel in fabrication
· Work closely with Safety Compliance Officer and Human Resource Officer to ensure Hoffmann policies and procedures are followed.
· Maintain a positive attitude and spirit of cooperation with coworkers and customers.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
· Strong problem-solving skills required.
· Must be able to receive, understand and execute written and verbal directions, as well as the ability to communicate and interact with others effectively.
· Excellent work ethic and strong attention to detail required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
· Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
· Walking, standing, kneeling.
· Must be able to periodically work off shifts and additional hours over 40.
· Must have the ability to attend meetings before or after normal business hours.
· Exposure to construction and industrial conditions, outdoor elements.
