Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced SAT Math and English Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both subjects and a proven track record of helping students improve their SAT scores. The instructor will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons, providing personalized feedback, and fostering a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction: Teach SAT Math and English content, strategies, and test-taking skills to high school students.
- Lesson Planning: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of individual students.
- Assessment: Evaluate students' progress through practice tests, quizzes, and assignments, providing constructive feedback.
- Support: Offer personalized support and guidance to help students achieve their target scores.
- Motivation: Inspire and motivate students to excel in their SAT preparation and academic endeavors.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective test preparation program.
- Adaptability: Stay updated on changes to the SAT exam and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, English, Education, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Experience: Experience teaching SAT Math and English. Experience with other standardized tests (ACT, GRE, etc.) is a plus.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of SAT content, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Certifications: Teaching certification or credential is preferred but not required.
- Availability: Flexible schedule with the ability to teach Monday to Friday after school until 9 PM, and weekends as needed.

Experienced Tutor
Math: Algebra through AP Calculus
Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Anatomy, Physiology, Astronomy (through AP level)
Standardized Test Preparation: SAT and ACT (must have formal training and prior teaching experience in group or one-on-one sessions)
Foreign Language: Spanish, French, Mandarin (through AP level)
Elementary: must have classroom teaching experience (education degree preferred)
Ideally, we are looking for tutors available to work in: San Marino, La Crescenta, La Canada, Irvine, South Pasadena, Walnut, Rowling Heights, and Arcadia
We are looking for tutors that can commit to any given student for the duration of the school year. Our students vary in age and ability from K-12th grade, gifted to mildly learning disabled.
Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher
Prior tutoring or teaching experience required
Available weekday afternoons and evenings for at least 10-12 hours per week
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a background check
