Internal Auditor - Yuma Regional Medical Center
JCA Personnel has been retained to recruit Internal Auditor candidates for consideration of an Internal Auditor position at Yuma Regional Medical Center. Yuma Regional Medical Center is a $900 million not-for-profit (406 Beds). Yuma Regional Medical Center is a 406 bed, not for profit, state of the art medical facility located in Yuma, AZ. Staffed by 2400 employees and nearly 400 medical practitioners. YRMC also has numerous clinics and associated specialty centers, (35+), Cancer Center, Specialty Clinic, Family Medicine Center, Heart Center, and a brand new, and a state of the art, 72 bed Emergency Department (one of the busiest in the state with 75k annual visits). YRMC is the only Level IV trauma center within 180 miles.
Position Summary:
The Internal Auditor is responsible for developing and executing Yuma Regional Medical Center's (YRMC) annual internal audit work plan. This role is crucial in providing assurance to YRMC and its Board of Directors that the organization's internal controls, business processes, and resulting business transactions are proper, well-controlled, and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and industry best practices. The Internal Auditor will conduct various types of audits, including financial, operational, and information technology audits, as well as compliance reviews and fraud investigations. This position requires a strong understanding of auditing principles, healthcare industry knowledge, and the ability to maintain professional ethics and standards in all aspects of work.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the internal audit program for YRMC, including:
- Develop the annual internal audit work plan based upon an annual risk assessment and customer requests
- Manage all aspects of planned and unplanned internal audit activities
- Manage external/contracted resources
- Report results to management and validate management's action plans
- Report to Board Audit Committee
- Select and/or develop audit methodologies, procedures, and practices
- Maintain healthcare industry knowledge and professional skillsets
- Conduct various types of audits (financial, operational, IT, compliance)
- Perform data analysis and fraud investigations
- Directly support YRMC management as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
- BS in accounting, finance, economics, or related subject
- At least 24 months of auditing experience
- Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with peers and management throughout the organization
- Demonstrated data analysis and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred:
- Previous healthcare experience
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor
