Position Overview:
As Lead Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for toddlers aged two years. Your primary responsibility is to facilitate the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child while fostering a love for learning and exploration. This position requires creativity, patience, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with the specific needs and interests of two-year-old children.
- Create a well-rounded curriculum that supports cognitive, language, motor, social, and emotional skill development.
2. Classroom Management:
- Maintain a well-organized and child-friendly classroom environment, ensuring safety and cleanliness at all times.
- Establish and enforce classroom rules and routines to promote positive behavior and discipline.
3. Individualized Support:
- Recognize and address the unique needs of each child, providing individualized attention and support as required.
- Foster a warm and nurturing atmosphere to build a strong sense of trust and security among the children.
4. Parent Communication:
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress, achievements, and challenges.
- Conduct regular parent-teacher conferences to discuss the child's development and set goals collaboratively.
5. Assessment and Documentation:
- Observe and assess each child's development regularly, documenting their progress and milestones.
- Keep accurate records of children's daily activities, behaviors, and achievements.
6. Play and Learning:
- Encourage imaginative play, creativity, and curiosity among the children, providing a variety of age-appropriate toys and learning materials.
- Facilitate group activities, games, and interactive play to promote socialization and teamwork.
7. Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring the well-being of the children at all times.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and ensure emergency procedures are known and practiced.
8. Professional Development:
- Stay updated with the latest early childhood education trends and research to continually improve teaching practices.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions related to child development and early education.
Qualifications:
- At minimum a degree or certification in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
- Proven experience working with toddlers, preferably in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood education setting.
- Knowledge of child development theories and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children and parents.
- Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude when working with young children.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Background check clearance as required by local regulations.
