The Assistant Director of Supportive Housing plays a critical leadership role in the management and development of their supportive housing services. This position is responsible for assisting the Director in overseeing program operations, staff management, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to residents. The Assistant Director will support the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of program activities, focusing on housing stability, resident well-being, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Program Development: Contribute to the design and implementation of supportive housing programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and resident needs.
- Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations of the supportive housing program, including resident intake, case management, and support services.
- Policy Implementation: Assist in developing, updating, and enforcing program policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Service Coordination: Coordinate services and resources for residents, ensuring integrated and comprehensive support for housing stability and well-being.
- Staff Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and support a team of social workers, case managers, and support staff, promoting professional growth and high-quality service delivery.
- Training and Development: Coordinate training programs for staff to enhance skills, knowledge, and compliance with best practices in supportive housing.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and develop action plans for staff development.
- Resident Engagement: Promote resident engagement and participation in supportive housing programs, ensuring their voices are heard and needs are addressed.
- Crisis Management: Provide guidance and support in crisis situations, including conflict resolution and access to emergency resources.
- Resource Navigation: Assist residents in accessing internal and external resources, including healthcare, employment, education, and community services.
- Data Management: Oversee data collection and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of program activities, resident progress, and outcomes.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to monitor program effectiveness, compliance with funding requirements, and achievement of program goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for program improvement, innovation, and best practices in supportive housing, and lead initiatives to enhance service delivery.
- Community Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, service providers, and stakeholders to expand resources and support for residents.
- Advocacy: Advocate for residents’ needs and rights within the community and among service providers, promoting housing stability and social justice.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate program achievements, challenges, and needs to stakeholders, including funders, community partners, and organizational leadership.
Requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supportive housing, social services, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Licensure: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), MSW, or MPH required.
Please note- The annual base salary starts at $70k - $80k. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
