Job Summary
Pediatric and Medical Associates, PC (www.pmapc.com) is a private medical practice with offices in New Haven and Cheshire. The group was founded over 50 years ago and currently is comprised of six physicians and three nurse practitioners. We are open daily plus weekends and evening hours to accommodate our patients.
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant who is energetic, proactive, and enjoys working with people, especially children. Must be comfortable working as part of a team of MA’s who support any clinicians that are scheduled, adaptable and able to multi-task as the needs of the day changes, and must be available to work in either office, and for hours that include weekends or evenings. You will also be crossed-trained to cover front desk tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties
Primary duties include but are not limited to use of EMR, preparing patients for exams, taking vitals, assisting clinicians as needed, preparing and stocking exam rooms, handling referrals and authorizations, answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking in patients, collecting copayments.
Hours : 40 hour week. Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-7:00pm (alternating shifts), Friday 7:00am-5:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 8:30am-12:00pm with alternating weekends and holidays.
Qualifications and Skills
Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
At least 1 year of medical assistant experience, preferably in a Pediatric setting.
Basic computer skills and Electronic Medical Record experience.
A pleasant attitude for interacting with patients and staff.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must perform Front Desk duties.
Physical requirements are walking, light lifting, sitting.
