Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to provide quality oral healthcare to our patients. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the treatment area, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments to the dentist
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental receptionist duties, such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining patient records
- Prepare and maintain dental equipment and supplies
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care
- Provide chairside assistance during dental procedures
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment
- Take and record vital signs of patients
- Use CAD systems for designing dental restorations
- Utilize medical coding for billing purposes
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent experience
- X-Ray certification required
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficient in using dental software systems for scheduling and recordkeeping
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
