Essential Duties
- To receive and record customer orders via email and phone.
- To communicate with customers regarding a variety of topics regarding their orders at different phases in the order process, ex: quotes, delivery dates, order confirmations.
- To support various general office matters, like postage, filing, and coffee.
- General Description
The principal duty served in the position of CSR relates to customer order processing. The CSR must develop familiarity with VIKING’s processes, products, customers, and suppliers. They must understand and become proficient in operating the computer programs utilized in the Customer Service Department.
No two days are ever the same for CSR, but everyday customer satisfaction is top priority. Viking CSRs organize and adapt to necessary tasks daily. The CSR team works together to process orders efficiently and assist customers with questions or needs. This is a fast-paced environment that requires solid multi-tasking abilities, along with strong communication skills. CSR must communicate and assist other departments as well, to ensure customer needs are met.
The CSR must acquire a basic understanding of DOT regulations as the role requires involvement in the product shipping task.

Customer Service Representatives (CSR) at Viking Chemical Company are instrumental from time of order entry through delivery and invoicing. CSR receive customer orders, enter order in software program, prep paperwork for other departments, offer support needed along the way, and then once delivery is complete CSR invoices customer also.
