Afternoon Program Behavior Therapist Job Description Afternoon Program: Ages 6-22
Hours: 2:30pm - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (depending on client attendance)
Pay Rate: $25 - $30 per hour (experience-based)
Training and Meetings: $15 per hour
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Per Diem Center-Based Behavior Therapists primary duty is to teach clients in the center to achieve the goals and objectives outlined in their individualized treatment plans. The Behavior Therapist is responsible for helping clients and their families reach these goals using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The position also requires completing administrative responsibilities, documentation, and training under the supervision of the Practice Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the care and safety of assigned clients
- Provide high-quality service and one-to-one instruction according to program design
- Complete the training program, including passing all training tests and observations
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold high ethical standards
- Implement instructional programs and behavior management procedures according to client-specific management guidelines, behavior intervention plans, and reinforcement system guidelines
- Provide parent/family training and feedback
- Record program data, behavior data, and other daily data as specified or prescribed by the case supervisor
- Complete all required forms and end-of-session responsibilities promptly
- Conduct generalization sessions across therapeutic environments as prescribed (e.g., in-home, community outings)
- Complete and pass CALM training
- Comply with HIPAA and FERPA guidelines
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Education, Behavior Analysis, or related field preferred
- Experience working with children with autism and related disabilities preferred
- Knowledge and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Dropbox
- Caring, compassionate, hardworking, and punctual
- Ability to physically work with clients (may involve running, squatting, lifting, prompting, and physical management)
- Reliable transportation
- Successful completion of State and Federal required criminal background checks (e.g., CORI and Fingerprinting)
