The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products as well as production procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Follows all established safety and work standards and advocate safety throughout the plant. Safety is our number one priority.
- Uses gauges and other measurement devices to verify conformity to customer specifications and company standards for components and assemblies.
- Inspects in-process floor product at multiple stages of the build and ensures all component data is accurately captured.
- Creates NCRs for any out of tolerance condition product and place suspect products in need of rework on hold.
- Works with Machining, Tooling, and Engineering departments on quality issues that arise until product is back to standard quality.
- Assists in completing quality improvement projects.
- Communicates with other Quality Techs on recent quality issues and wins.
- Communicates regularly and effectively with production on quality issues and improvements.
- Investigates improvement opportunities and documents them as required.
- Monitors compliance with the AS9100 business system and ensures action is taken to address noncompliance when identified.
- Performs any quality related tasks, special projects as assigned.
Skills & Experience:
- Working knowledge of metal machining, welding, metal-finishing, fabrication, and general assembly experience.
- Possesses critical thinking, decision making, and problem solving skills.
- Excellent personal communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must have a clear understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
- Ability to comprehend all engineering blueprints and written engineering procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must demonstrate the ability to measure with hand tools including, but not limited to: Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauge.
- Proficient in MS Office
- 2 years minimum experience.
Preferred:
- CMM experience a plus.
- FARO Arm experience a plus.
- Further qualifications are a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, all essential functions of the job.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to communicate in the English language.
Academic Requirements:
Travel & Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted; must be able to sit or stand up to 8 hours per day uninterrupted.
- Local travel and overtime as required to meet project goals.
