Workshop Technician Level 1
POSITION OVERVIEW: We are looking for talented candidates who would like to learn a rewarding profession at a world-renowned luxury watchmaking company. Located in our beautiful Dallas building; a Workshop Technician at our company is trained to work on a variety of watch repair tasks. Experience repairing watches isn’t necessary. Candidates will be bench tested by an experienced watchmaking instructor and fully trained. Successful candidates should be good at working with their hands, technically minded, able to follow directions, and reliable. Opportunities for advance are available. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants will be interviewed by Human Resources and will be required to perform a bench test to assess their basic abilities and potential to learn watch assembly.
TASKS: Disassembling, assembling, and lubricating watch component parts as directed. Follow Standard Operating Procedures. Sit at a watchmaking bench for long periods of time. Wear a magnifying loop while conducting repair work.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS : Alpha-numeric recognition, organizational skills, attention to details, hand-eye-coordination.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and work at a watchmaking bench. The employee is occasionally required to sit/walk/bend; lift and/or carry no more than 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and using a loop to examine watch parts. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently to stand at polishing machines holding watch parts very still against a polishing wheel. Employee will be required to wear required personal protection equipment. The employee is occasionally required to sit/walk/bend; lift and/or carry no more than 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and using a loop to examine watch parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low but may be loud in polishing areas. The normal work schedule is 40 hours per week.
