**This position is at our Bayfront location, in San Francisco, CA.**
The new five-story, 182,800-square-foot clinical building, will include an ambulatory surgery center, same-day care, adult primary and secondary multi-specialty clinics, and a pharmacy. The Bayfront Medical Building is critical to support UCSF Health Operations and to serve a growing patient demand, including an increasing demand for outpatient surgery.
The Anesthesia Technician’s primary responsibility is to maintain all anesthesia service areas in readiness for use by Anesthesiologists and Anesthetists. The service areas include all operating rooms and procedure rooms in the main OR, Additional service areas include (if applicable)- but are not limited to: All pre-op and PACU facilities. Responsible for anesthesia equipment and supplies as described in this job description and is accountable to the Supervisor of Anesthesia Support Services or OR manager. Must be able to work with preceptor and be able to make decisions and set priorities with guidance.
Responsible for knowledge of and compliance with all applicable infection control, health and safety policies and procedures as implemented by the department and/or work unit and UCSF Medical Center. Additionally, adherence to departmental policies and procedures, including telephone and house standards is required.
Responsible for anesthesia equipment and supplies; work independently and be able to make decisions and set priorities with some guidance; responsible for knowledge of and compliance with all applicable infection control, health and safety policies and procedures as implemented by the institution; may assist Anesthesiologists with patient positioning, preparation of sterile fields, placement of invasive monitoring lines, application of regional, epidural and spinal anesthesia techniques, and invasive and noninvasive procedure setups.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
