First State Orthopaedics is looking for experienced Radiology Technologists for our Downstate DE locations. In this position the objective is to provide patient services using imaging modalities, perform radiographic procedures, apply principles of radiation protection and evaluate radiographs for technical quality.
Radiologic Technologists Requirements: ARRT registered, State of Delaware license, trained on PACS systems.
Radiologic Technologists Detailed Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic radiographic services on PACS (Fusion One) system.
- Update information as appropriated in EMR and PACS.
- Review pertinent clinical information with physician’s/staff prior to exam.
- Preparation of x-ray room prior to exam.
- Explain radiology procedure to patient
- Ensure patient is positioned properly according to protocol.
- Adjust equipment to obtain correct angle
- Modify x-ray views and patient positioning to obtain optimal images secondary to a patient’s diagnosis or their inability to perform standard positioning.
- Take preventive steps to avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation
- Transfer patient to imaging table (may involve lifting, bracing and/or supporting patient’s body weight).
- Critique images for overall quality prior to recording in patients x-ray file
- Process and coordinate x-ray copy requested for patient pick up.
- Empty and store medical supplies and braces
- Operate autoclave for sterilization of equipment
- Organize daily work schedule and respond to emergencies as necessary.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Maintain professional registries and licenses as mandated by employer.
- Participate in continuing education activities as required by registry.
- Perform all work duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Interact professionally with patients, physicians and co-workers.
- Working knowledge of other FSO departments to obtain quality care for all patients.
Radiolologic Technologists Physical/Mental Demands:
Physical effort requires constant standing and walking, frequent reaching and bending, maneuvering of x-ray machine, maneuvering and constant positioning of patients (lifting and carrying). Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and the ability to speak and hear are required.
