VCA Veterinary Specialist of the Valley (VCA VSV) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Overnight Customer Service Representative to join our team. This position is crucial in providing exceptional customer service to pet owners during emergencies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Client Interaction: Greet clients in person and over the phone with a warm, professional demeanor. Provide information and assistance regarding emergency services, hospital policies, and procedures.
Triage Coordination: Gather and relay critical information to veterinary staff to effectively prioritize and manage emergency cases.
Appointment Management: Schedule emergency and follow-up appointments, ensuring efficient hospital resources and time use.
Documentation: Accurately enter client and patient information into the hospital management system. Maintain up-to-date records and handle confidential information with discretion.
Payment Processing: Handle billing and payment transactions, including processing credit card payments, managing invoices, and addressing billing inquiries.
Communication: Serve as a liaison between clients and veterinary staff, ensuring clear and timely communication regarding patient status and care instructions.
Facility Management: Maintain a clean and organized reception area. Assist with light cleaning duties as needed to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
Client Care: Provide emotional support to distressed pet owners, offering empathy and understanding during difficult situations.
Qualifications
Experience: Previous customer service experience, preferably in a veterinary or healthcare setting. Experience with emergency services is a plus.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including Microsoft Office and veterinary practice management software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility.

The hourly range for this position is $18-$23, with a shift differential of $2.00 for the overnight shift. The shift differential is for hours worked between 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM. ACompensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
