To join CLEAResult as an Energy Engineer/Analyst III focused on regulatory activities. Fulfilling CLEAResult’s position as the market leader in energy efficiency and sustainability, this position is meant to collaborate closely with Business Development, Program Leadership, and Engineering Leadership to develop growth strategies, innovative energy efficiency programs, and refine products and services through Utility regulatory research and engagement.
An ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of how utility and energy regulation is created and enforced, of energy and carbon efficient measures, and of established and innovative program designs.
This role is hybrid with an expectation of being in the office on Tuesdays. 25% travel involved with this role.

- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of energy efficiency industry, energy efficient technologies, applicable codes and standards, utility program designs and regulations, and utility program evaluation.
- Engage in regulatory conversations (including public utility commission meetings) as an industry leader. Review regulatory filings, utility commission documents, and evaluator documents for technical implications and regulatory/funding trends; communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical CLEAResult staff.
- Develop new revenue streams by helping to expand CLEAResult’s portfolio of utility energy efficiency planning support and consulting to help position CLEAResult to effectively implement proposed programs.
- Drive awareness of regulatory decisions and impacts to our business to help enhance services to our clients.
- Lead technical aspects of energy efficiency program planning and cost-effectiveness evaluation by developing recommended measure lists, providing estimated energy and environmental impacts savings for appropriate base/efficient technologies, incremental costs, and target participants.
- Influence state and regional savings references (e.g., technical reference manuals; TRMs) by tracking development and revision activity cycles, analyzing the business and savings impacts of changes, and supporting public comments.
- Engage with national organizations (DLC, ASHRAE, etc.) to determine strategic direction of energy efficiency trends in the national landscape. Interface with national organizations to provide feedback that supports company mission and objectives in the energy efficiency landscape.
- Develop regional regulatory engineering champions and maintain clear communication and division of responsibilities with them and other CLEAResult regulatory policy staff.
- Identify information important to impact evaluation preparedness and communicate to regional program and engineering stakeholders. Leverage impact evaluation results across jurisdictions and programs.

- Evaluations or technical energy experience preferred
