Job Overview:
As a warehouse associate, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse facility. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring a safe working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of contents against shipping documents.
- Unload trucks and containers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment as necessary.
- Inspect incoming materials for damage or defects and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Safely and efficiently store materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items according to customer orders and shipping requirements.
- Load trucks and containers with outgoing shipments, ensuring that they are properly secured for transportation.
- Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment, including sweeping floors, organizing shelves, and disposing of packaging materials.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of equipment.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks and projects as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 40 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
