Job Description:
Raritan Valley Community College is currently seeking a Non-Tenure General Mathematics Instructor in the Math & Computer Science Department for the upcoming 2024-2025 Academic Year.
Essential Duties:
Teach wide range of credit and developmental math courses as assigned, specifically Statistics.
Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing, utilizing, and assessing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.
Assess courses and programs following departmental and college-wide guidelines.
Develop and / or use a syllabus?based on official course outline?for each course within College and departmental guidelines.
Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives, and inform them in a timely manner of their progress.
Submit required College reports and forms.
Review, evaluate, and recommend student learning materials.
Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.
Teach courses using all modalities, at a variety of times and locations in response to departmental and institutional needs.
Provide access to students through posted office hours, electronic communication and other appropriate methods.
Participate in scheduled department and College activities.
Serve on departmental and College-wide committees.
Adhere to College policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
Master's degree in Mathematics/Statistics or Mathematics/Statistics Education is required. The College will consider Master's degrees in certain mathematics-related disciplines.
Minimum of two years prior teaching experience strongly preferred, community college teaching experience preferred.
Ability to instruct a wide range of courses from Basic Mathematics through Calculus and Differential Equations, Statistics, and Liberal Arts Math courses.
Experience in postsecondary developmental education is desirable.
Ability to teach both day and evening courses.
Demonstrate professional development related to mathematics and/or education disciplines.
