Maintenance Technician Job Description
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A successful Maintenance Technician is responsible for duties including, but not limited to:
- Repair, maintain and service all aspects of the apartment community.
- Complete maintenance and repair work orders, in a timely fashion.
- Maintenance of vacant apartments (follow comprehensive check list).
- Provides snow removal of sidewalks and breezeway areas
- Maintain grounds and common areas keeping them free of trash and debris.
- Perform various preventative maintenance functions
- Perform other duties, as assigned
- Must be able to pull, push, lift, carry or maneuver weights of up to 50lbs independently and up to 100lbs with assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields
- Must have plumbing and electrical experience
- Effective communication and interaction with management team, partners, subordinates, vendors or residents, sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.
- Must be available for emergency calls after hours
- Familiarity with hand-held tools and equipment
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Valid driver's license and a vehicle are required. Truck preferred.
Other
- Understands and complies with Fair Housing laws and standards.
- This position requires personal contact with apartment residents. Proper conduct is essential at all times.
Well-rounded skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
