Position Title: Insurance Sales
Type: Full Time
Location: Any Blue Ridge Risk Partners Location
This role is a sale oriented, communication heavy position. Insurance sales professionals, through training, become wealth’s of knowledge for insurance products available through the agency. The sales department is responsible for pursuing and closing sales of new and existing clients. In this role, candidates can expect to perform the essential functions noted below, while meeting the quality and service standards developed by the agency.
Essential Functions:
- Identify and establish communication with new clients
- With the support of seasoned professionals, sell a wide array of insurance solutions and risk services to new and existing customers
- Develop and implement a plan for continued client growth
- Manage existing clients, as assigned
- Improve client services through proactivity and structured timelines
- With guidance, continuously develop industry knowledge, inclusive of products, market changes, and underwriting skills
- Provide recommendations and suggestions to clients regarding their insurance program
- Actively engage with clients through communication to discuss service needs, billing, and coverage questions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate both orally and in written communication
- Can interpret abstract information and respond accordingly
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Confident, self-starter who works well independently
- Must have exceptional organization and time-management skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites or similar software
Education and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in a sales role is preferred, but not required
- Business to business (B2B) sales with proposal and closing experience is highly desired
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required, some higher education is preferred
Physical Requirements:
Work is typically performed in an interior office environment, in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Limited physical effort required or exposure to physical risk, however employees should be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
