The Loan Participation & Lending Specialist is responsible for day-to-day processing of Participation, SWAP Loans, SBA, USDA, and Mortgage Pool Transactions. A successful candidate in this role will have experience using Microsoft Office products, strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, the ability to communicate issues and solutions. This role works with individuals at all levels of the business. We are looking for a team player who is proactive with good problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities and Expectations
Participation, SWAP Loans, SBA, USDA & Mortgage Pool
- Administer payments/transaction on Participations, SWAP, SBA, USDA and Mortgage Pool loans.
- Coordinate with participating/lead bank(s) as needed to process transactions.
- Performing maintenance, calculations and adjustments on complex interest and fee accruals
- Verifying and funding all incoming funding requests from agent banks in a timely manner
- Understands all documentation pertaining to any participation, syndication, and SBA including the most complex Loan and Credit agreements. Fair knowledge of agency agreements and syndication marketplace is essential for this position.
- Assists with responding to various audits performed in the unit relating to the Participation Desk
- Assists with and may serve as liaison with lenders, loan administration, and outside vendors.
- Partner with Servicing team members to develop and adjust processes as applicable related to specialized loan controls and servicing.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Compliance
- Required to adhere to lending policies and procedures, as well as disclosures required by government regulations.
Required Skills & Education
- College degree or 3 years equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience in banking or finance related industry preferred.
- Must have knowledge of real estate lending, compliance requirements and government regulations.
- Must have a good understanding of commercial loan terms, loan programs, and documents.
- Must have a good working knowledge of the FISERV or equivalent loan servicing systems.
- Working knowledge of PC software including Word, Excel, Internet, etc
- Good organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner
