Reports to: Accounting Manager
JOB BRIEF: The Accounts Receivable Clerk is directly responsible for maintaining resident ledgers, posting all monies received, adjusting resident ledgers as needed and providing daily, weekly, and monthly reports including accurate reporting of rents and deposits received. The AR Clerk also provides training to onsite hires, related to posting rents and subsidy payments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct all business in accordance with Realty & Mortgage Co.’s policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act and all other laws pertaining to property management.
- Maintains accurate resident ledgers and records. Update daily all rents, deposits and application fees received by residents. Issue appropriate notices when necessary (e.g., late payments, eviction notices, returned check memos).
- Ensure that all rents are posted in a timely manner. Ensure all bank deposits are made the day that the funds are posted in the system. Deposits are made electronically and/or in-person at a local branch.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate tenant ledgers and files, to include but not be limited to entering and updating tenant ledger information, posting, and correcting charges/credits.
- Generate reports and organize files/paperwork.
- Provides hands-on support, remote oversight, and training with on-site staff.
- General customer service duties include, but are not limited to answering telephones, assisting residents with Resident Portal access, reception duties when scheduled or requested as a backup.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the direct supervisor and/or Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Position requires at least 2 years of experience in property management
- Must have intermediate computer skills and Proficient in Microsoft excel
- Experience with ERP accounting software (Entrata)
- Must be able to effectively communicate, verbally and over email, with residents and colleagues
- Previous experience in accounting, finance or other related fields
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Accurate typing skills and attention to detail
- Reasoning Development – High. Must be able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect pertinent data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and initiate appropriate course of action. Must effectively convey ideas, images and goals to a diverse group of personalities.

WORK HOURS: 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday 8:30a-5p
ONSITE: Ability to commute to 1509 W Berwyn Ave, Chicago, IL 60640
