Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team for permanent opportunity within the Greater Houston Area. The ideal candidate will have experience and be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payments and/or collections. Also, technical accounting tasks and account reconciliation.
Must be well organized and comfortable dealing with financial data. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll and conducting other tasks related to finance. They should be excellent at recording data and have an ability to product clear financial reports.
Responsibilities
· Process incoming invoices and reconcile vendor statements.
· Ensure that invoices are entered accurately and in timely fashion.
· Assist in preparation of journal entry support.
· Process monthly bank reconciliations
· Assist with month-end closing activities
· Performs special projects as needed
· Performs other duties as assigned or required.
· Track expenses, budget, taxes
· Track cash flow, receipts and other financial dealings of company
· Provide regular financial reports (weekly, monthly and yearly)
· Monitor accounts payable and receivable
· Ensure timely processing of payroll
· Prepare and process payments to vendors
· Monitor accounts receivable aging report and follow up on past due accounts
· Generate customer statements
· Apply customer payments to outstanding invoices
· Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts payable and receivable records
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
Requirements
· Proven experience in accounts payable or receivable roles
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Knowledge of basic accounting principles
· Great communication, math skills and financial knowledge (debits/ credits).
· Ability to work with others and deal effectively with customers and clients
· Ability to answer questions and provide information
· Computer software skills including
· Excel
· Honesty (dealing with cash) an no criminal history related to financial transactions
· Organized and self-motivated
· Regular, dependable attendance
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and QuickBooks
· Strong organizational and analytical skills Detail oriented
