The ideal candidate is experienced in working with livestock, particularly with ranch cattle- understanding the focus around safety and humane handling are top priority. This position will unload cattle and humanely corral them into pens for holding until harvest. The pens will need to be maintained to ensure security and cleanliness. Key Qualifications:
· Bilingual preferred, must be able to effectively communicate in English
· May be required to work long hours and weekends, based on company needs
· Must be able to work in the cold or heat for extended periods of time
· Experience using humane animal handling techniques
· Must have experience with cattle handling
Must Successfully Complete Training:
· Safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF), Food Defense
· Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
· Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
· Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
· Humane Handling
· Skid Loader
Key Responsibilities:
· Use approved driving devices and live animal scale to facilitate unloading of animals
· Weigh and record all incoming and outgoing cattle and weights
· Use approved driving device to move cattle from pen to pen, or pen to knock tub/chute
· Use approved driving device to move cattle from chute into the knock box
· Use skid loader, tractor, and paper shredder to clean and re-bed pens
· Participate in livestock facility operations, maintenance, and improvements
· Well-articulated to communicate with USDA, Plant Manager, and leaders throughout the facility; perform tasks/duties delegated by leadership
