Brody Law Group, an established NYC insurance defense firm has multiple opportunities for experienced Paralegals. With offices in New York City and Huntington on Long Island, the Paralegal has the ability to have an immediate significant impact on the firm, the team, and their clients.
The attorneys are highly skilled litigators who offer expertise and counseling in the areas of sophisticated construction and labor law litigation, general liability, insurance coverage, products liability and appellate practice. Responsibilities:
- Draft and revise case-related documents such as correspondence, deposition notices, contracts, briefs, motions, orders, petitions and discovery, and send to clients, counsel, and courts as needed;
- Responsible for proper filing and service of documents in accordance with the applicable rules and procedures;
- Communicate with local counsel in other jurisdictions as needed to get documents filed or served;
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, experts, and other professionals in accordance with attorney guidance;
- Manage and communicate deadlines across multiple cases filed in different jurisdictions;
- Prepare for court hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, investigatory interviews, meetings with law enforcement agencies, and other case-related proceedings and meetings;
- Maintain records regarding billable hours and expenses spent on cases;
- Coordinate with legal service vendors (e.g., mediators, information management services, court reporters, and process servers);
- Assist in the onboarding and development of Legal Assistants; and
- Perform other duties assigned by lead attorneys
Qualifications
- Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred, along with 2 or more years paralegal experience.
- Experience as a paralegal in a defense firm.
- Experience in tort-labor law, trip and fall, negligence type cases.
- Experience in navigating the Unified Court System, e-filing assessing the judge’s rules etc.
- Experience in navigating the Federal Court system is a plus.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
