Financial Coordinator Job Description
Summary
The Financial Coordinator is responsible for providing direction in the development and communication of all financial discussions within the POD.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Confirm Patients according to Racine Dental approved process
Collects and records co-payments and past due balances without intimidation or delay from patients with ongoing treatment in accordance with practice procedures. Post payment to ledger and print receipt
Work patient aging (up to 90 days) and Insurance Aging (up to 60 days)
Records patient financial discussions according to practice procedures in G notes
Second to answer telephones in professional courteous manner to patients and coworkers using superior customer service skills. Communicate messages as needed. Promptly respond to voicemails, emails and texts
Provide necessary instructions/directions to patients and politely answer questions
Create New Patient/Family account as needed
Accept emergency patient calls and triage them to provide patient with prompt service
Arrange appointments with the correct amount of time and accommodates both patients and staff in scheduling. Reschedule appointments when Doctor/hygiene are out of the off
Build financial agreements from the treatment plan. Be aware of and communicate limitations and maximums to patient. Discuss Racine Dental financial options available if necessary.
Present Treatment plans to the patient using appropriate terminology in an organized professional manner
Assist with pre determinations when necessary and contact patients when pre authorization is received to review estimate costs and appoint patient
Work credit balance report to track, document and initialize refunds
Reviews/Follow up with patients on unscheduled treatment plans or objections to overcome
Smile Assist enrollment as needed
Request patient reviews
Maintain accurate patient records: scan signed forms into electronic chart, document conversations etc
Follow policies in RDG’s Employee Handbook as well as operational/ safety policy and procedures
Maintain a clean and organized desk on a daily basis. Ensure supplies are stocked as needed
Enhance own personal development
Ensure internal/external communications by attending meetings/committees, etc
Perform other assigned duties as requested

Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour
