Job Summary
The primary focus for this position is to ensure that Zero Waste Recycling complies with all applicable federal, state and local employment regulations and to nurture employee growth and promotion while maintaining a strong company culture.

- Develops and administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
- Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Implements and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
- Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-pathing program, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing; writes and places advertisements.
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
- Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
- Working together with Payroll Administrator to ensure payroll process runs efficiently including: weekly processing of payroll, onboarding and termination of employees, maintenance of employee records, etc.
- Works with Senior Management team to help facilitate and manage company culture and mission across employee base.
- Working with Senior Management team to champion the development and implementation of communication efforts and general policies related to the company's ESOP plan and ensuring employees understand the benefits of the plan.
Secondary Responsibilities / Duties
- Ability to take necessary steps to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
- Participate in manufacturing meetings to discuss workplace safety and regulatory concerns and opportunities.
- Actively role model all company policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with Operations, Managers, Supervisors and employees.
- Keep the Management Team up to date on matters relating to, policy interpretation and law changes.
- Ability to implement and follow through with Standard Operating Procedures for recycling programs.
- Assist in the oversight of the Worker’s Compensation program.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Other Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in the HR field.
- Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to be on call or work off hours as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Superior analytical/problem solving, written and verbal communications.
- Experience working with local regulatory agencies preferred.
- Previous ESOP experience preferred but not required.
Education / Certification
- Bachelor’s degree
- PHR/SPHR Certification or equivalent

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
