Summary
Applied Optoelectronics Inc. (AOI) is a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced optical and Radio Frequency (RF) products, including components, modules, and equipment. AOI's products are the building blocks for broadband access networks worldwide, where they are used in the internet data center, CATV broadband, telecom, and FTTH markets. AOI supplies both customized and OEM/ODM components and equipment in all four of these markets. In addition to its corporate headquarters, wafer fab, and advanced engineering and production facilities in Sugar Land, TX, AOI has an R&D lab in Atlanta, Georgia, and engineering and manufacturing facilities in Taipei, Taiwan, and Ningbo, China.
Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring that company products and processes comply with relevant regulations and standards, and environmental regulations.
- Documentation: Prepare, review, and maintain compliance documentation, including technical files, regulatory submissions, and audit reports.
- Audits: Support internal and external compliance audits, including scheduling, preparing documentation, and addressing audit findings.
- Training: Participate in the development and delivery of compliance training programs for staff to ensure awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Assist in identifying compliance risks and implementing corrective actions to mitigate these risks.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the compliance department, including process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Research: Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and recommend necessary updates to policies and procedures.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Operations, to support compliance-related activities and projects.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field or above is required.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of regulatory compliance and quality management systems. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be able operate most lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, DOCSIS, IEC/EN/UL or related are advantageous.
- Standards: Relevant standards such as DOCSIS, WIFI, FCC, IEC/EN/UL 62368-1, Telcordia or related are advantageous.
- Tools: Familiarity with compliance management software and tools.
Location
This position will report in person to our Duluth office in Atlanta, Georgia.
