Summary: Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates all volunteer opportunities for State Games and Special Events by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Responsible for acquiring and stewarding Duck Pluck sponsors exceeding $32,000 in revenue by August 1 annually.
· Responsible for promoting, scheduling, and completing duck sales day exceeding $52,000 revenue goal.
· Responsible for planning, organizing, staging, implementing and
· evaluating a successful Duck Pluck.
· Responsible for stewarding all sponsors of the Duck Pluck.
· Develop and maintain fundraising website for Duck Pluck and online sales days.
· Procure Duck Pluck Event Photographer.
· Send bi-monthly e-blasts regarding Duck Pluck sales through constant contact and/or GAME website.
· Submits one Duck Pluck sponsor testimonial for the website.
· Supports State Indoor Winter, Summer, and Fall Games with all aspects of volunteer management.
· Responsible for maintaining and updating the SOGA Volunteer & Events Calendar quarterly for the website.
· Organizes, records and fully implements the protective behavior training program and provides monthly updates.
· Organizes, records and fully implements the Verified/Sterling Volunteers screening program.
· Runs the overall volunteer program including the coordination participation, placement and training of sponsors who provide volunteers for assigned events and state games.
· Recruit, assign and train the Volunteer Coordinator for every state games venue.
· Recruit, assign and train the Awards Captains for every state games venue.
· Attends all state games volunteer trainings via zoom.
· Provides individual volunteers with current screenings, materials and opportunities.
· Coordinates and conducts sports specific training for sports event volunteers for State Games with the SOGA Games Director.
· Responsible for collecting nominees and keep the monthly records updated and letter/certificate/gift card for Volunteer of the Month Program, as well as, include brief write up and photo in each SOGA e-newsletter (12).
· Procures and organizes volunteers for special events but only attends those events as designated on a case by case scenario.
· Monitors and maintains the Vysys and/or FE NXT database including address corrections/additions, general input, deletions, queries, de duping, events/games data entry, as well as, other administrative tasks assigned.
· Collects, enters and reports monthly statistics regarding the Protective Behavior testing.
· Schedule and make 4 annual presentations with a Global Messenger by December 1st.
· Write submit and submit, and notate weekly grants and receives funding from 5.
· Schedule and present to 4 civic groups annually preferably with an athlete to recruit volunteers, spread awareness and solicit a donation.
· Attend at least 1 GOC state games meetings annually for State Winter, Summer Games, and Fall Games.
· Add emails to Constant contact monthly.
· Speaks at public events, participates at event booths, coordinates mailings, TV and radio ads as needed.
· Responsible for developing and following budget plans for assigned events / projects / State Games.
· Assist with development of annual and long-term goals for Volunteer Management.
· Assist in converting corporate volunteer groups into State Games Sponsors.
· Establish annual calendar dates and deadlines for assigned events / projects.
· Implement Strategic and other SOGA driven plans as it coincides with your position and with your department.
· Some travel as well as night and weekend commitments as needed.
· Supports state games and events as needed.
· Other duties may be assigned.

Education/Experience:
4 year College degree. Special Olympics, sports special events background and prior experience working with volunteers a plus.

Physical Demands:
The SOGA team member is occasionally required to lift 50 pounds or more.
