Communication
Communicate clearly and professionally to students, teachers, parents, and administrative staff regarding student
progress and needs
Provide timely feedback on work to students
Instruction
Ability to work in a multi-grade classroom
Integrate faith-based teaching where appropriate
Ability to explain new ideas and unfamiliar concepts to support student learning
Encourage and monitor student progress and use the information to adjust the teaching strategy
Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments timely
Prepare students for standardized testing required by North Carolina within teaching guidelines and regulations
Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability
backgrounds
Administrative
Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development
Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, policies, and school regulations
Observe and evaluate student performance and development
Participate in school and faculty meetings and collaborations
Meet professional teacher education requirements of school, state, and conference
Keep abreast with new teaching methods, activities, or technology that can be implemented in the classroom by
attending professional development activities
Conflict Resolution
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures of the school
system
Observe and report student behavior as it relates to IEP or other educational requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
B.A./B.S. degree in education or related field of study from an accredited institution
North Carolina or NAD teacher certification - preferred
Two or more years of experience in Education
Operations of relevant technology
Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein
Equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
