PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crudes to produce the high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd party chemical facilities, allowing for further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products. We seek a Senior IT Engineering and Maintenance Business Analyst to support the IT Enterprise Digital Solutions Manager in driving strategic improvements within our business. As the Senior IT Engineering and Maintenance Business Analyst, you will act as the business relationship manager between the IT department and the business Technology, Engineering, and MTAC (Maintenance, Turnarounds, and Construction) organizations.
Your primary objective for the Business Analyst (BA) is to prioritize and drive continuous improvement opportunities. This includes understanding each IT application's business processes, requirements, and utilization. You will assist in requirement gathering, vendor selection, and planning and execution of small projects. Additionally, you will establish IT best practices at the site. You will be expected to understand the Refinery business and oil and Gas practices and feel comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. Creativity and customer-centric attitudes are fundamental to this role.
To be successful, you should have:
- Understanding of typical applications used at a refinery is preferred
- Experience with one or multiple Engineering and Maintenance Applications preferred, including SAP EAM, GE Meridium, GE APM, Cenosco IMS, SIS Solutions, etc. Autodesk or Hexagon Smart P&IDs, Document Management, 3D Modeling
- Strong technical abilities in application design, configuration, implementation, and support.
- Ability to develop technology roadmaps based on business capability enablement and technical lifecycle.
- Experience creating an applications inventory and portfolio.
Your responsibilities as the Senior IT Engineering and Maintenance Business Analyst will include:
- Business Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison for the Engineering, Technology, and MTAC teams.
- Strategic Roadmap Development: Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect to create and implement a strategic roadmap for business capabilities and applications.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with the PMO and OCM teams to deliver key projects and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Application and Technology Support: Maintain and support the portfolio of applications for Engineering and Maintenance, managing contracts, licenses, and vendor relationships.
- IT Infrastructure Collaboration: Partner with the IT Technical team to enforce infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Policy and Procedure Deployment: Define and deploy IT policies and procedures for the correct use and governance of applications.
