In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Materials Management Supervisor is responsible for managing and implementing a sound automated program for procurement and distribution of material, equipment, and services for the health system at the most favorable prices consistent with quality, quantity, vendor performance, and departmental goals and objectives. Exhibits the Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Functions:

Maintains financial goals across the health system established for inventory adjustments, inventories, holding costs, cost savings, expenses and product costs.

Assures departmental productivity and quality of service requirements across the health system per established operating standards.

Manages human resource utilization across the health system, ensuring optimum staffing levels, completing evaluations, discipline, hiring review and cultural values, per established standards and expectations.

Implements supply chain improvements to enhance the Physician experience within the health system and improve quality to the patient.

Implements the key information systems such as; Meditech, Pyxis and GHX, across the health system, to assure continuity, inventory control, supply charging and cost reductions.

Implements consolidated purchasing practices and GPO contract utilization across the health system to reduce costs.

Assists with special projects as needed (situational leadership).

Responsible for daily operations in the absence of the Director.

Maintains thorough knowledge of the legal aspects of purchasing and regulatory requirements.

Has the authority and responsibility to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, discipline, direct, or recommend such actions by using independent judgment.

Completes and conducts employee performance evaluations based on direct observation of their employee’s job performance.

Granted authority to perform the supervisory duties and are held accountable for performing such duties.

Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
-
Associates Degree in an appropriate related field with five years of experience or 10 plus years of progressive management experience in Materials Management within an automated supply chain enterprise.
