Day Habilitation Assistant Instructor
QUALIFICATIONS:
A High School Diploma is required.
At least 1 year’s work experience with the developmentally disabled is preferred.
Clearance through state mandated Background / Fingerprint Check(s) required.
Must be able to communicate effectively with others and individuals served.
Ability to safely assist lifting individuals of various weights and 20 lbs. items.

Ensure health, safety & welfare of people we support.The Instructor is responsible for maintaining a Day Habilitation classroom. The Instructor supervises Assistant Instructors and interfaces with clinical staff in the implementation of educational objectives and training within the total program.
Essential Functions:
1. To assume responsibility for continued evaluation, development and implementation of their assigned curriculum area.
2. To provide habilitation services based on individual preferences and choices through an active treatment approach.
3. To maintain a harmonious and productive atmosphere in the program room between staff and individuals based on mutual respect.
4. To determine assignments for individual staff members working in the curriculum area. These assignments include, but are not limited to correct goal implementation, daily data collection, following the activity schedule, behavioral program implementation, lunch coverage and trips. The Instructor will ensure that the completion of said assignments meet the agency policy.
5. Ensures all paperwork is submitted within the time frame establish by agency and OPWDD policies.
6. To be alert to individual medical concerns and to ensure prompt reporting of such to the Program Nurse.
7. Attends all staff meetings.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
