Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as a Project Manager. This entry-level position will oversee all aspects of our commercial painting projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will have a passion for project management, exceptional communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Assist in developing comprehensive project plans including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with general contractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings, regular progress meetings, and project closeout meetings.
- Team Management:
- Support the supervision and management of on-site painting crews, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support.
- Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration among all team members.
- Quality Control:
- Help establish and maintain quality control standards for all projects.
- Perform regular site visits to inspect work and ensure it meets company standards and client expectations.
- Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
- Budget and Cost Management:
- Assist in developing and managing project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
- Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures as necessary.
- Prepare and submit regular financial reports to senior management.
- Client Communication:
- Serve as a point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide regular updates on project status, addressing any concerns or questions clients may have.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality work and maintaining open lines of communication.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Respond to and manage any issues or emergencies that arise during the project.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and daily reports.
- Prepare detailed project status reports for senior management and clients.
- Ensure all project closeout documentation is completed and submitted as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Passion for project management and interest in the commercial painting or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must provide own truck capable of carrying materials and equipment for job-related travel.
Work Environment:
- This position requires frequent travel to project sites within the Columbia, SC area.
- Must be able to work in various conditions including outdoor environments and at heights.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.
