JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt DEPARTMENT: Maintenance REPORTS TO: General Manager
SCHEDULE: Day Shift: Mon – Fri, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
2. Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
3. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
4. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
5. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
6. Perform a variety of electrical, plumbing, maintenance and carpentry functions.
7. Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
8. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
9. Maintain records of scheduled maintenance in accordance with ISO quality standards.
10. To work responsibly and independently, with little supervision.
11. Keep work area clean and presentable.
12. Perform all other duties assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
2. Ability to read and comprehend procedures written in English.
3. Ability to perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
4. Ability to perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
5. Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
6. Ability to read technical drawings.
7. Knowledge of:
a. Electrical codes
b. Pipefitting
c. Occupational hazards and standard safety practices
d. Lubricants used in plant equipment
e. Basic math
8. Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
9. Safety conscious behavior.
10. Excellent attendance.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 70 lbs.
2. Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
3. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
4. Work in a fast paced industrial environment wearing hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing.
5. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. At times work is performed in cold or hot environments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
