We are a private ophthalmology practice seeking a friendly, reliable, and highly motivated Medical Receptionist and Administrative Assistant.
This full-time position offers paid time off, paid holidays, 401k, medical insurance benefits and guaranteed hours. Two years of previous medical experience in obtaining prior authorizations is REQUIRED.
We are seeking an individual who is punctual, able to multitask, has strong organizational skills, and enjoys working in a team environment and interacting with patients. The practice is fully paperless and has both electronic medical records and scheduling/billing systems. Experience with computerized scheduling, computerized check-in, insurance authorization requests and insurance knowledge is essential. The practice uses Modernizing Medicine (Mod Med) EHR.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting patients in an upbeat and friendly manner
- Answering and managing phones
- Scheduling appointments and surgeries
- Collecting and verifying insurance information
- Obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies
- Registering and checking in patients
- Collecting payments
- Maintaining patient flow on clinic and surgical days
- Maintaining accurate patient information in the EMR
- Data entry
- Filing
We provide training for basic clinical duties, use of Electronic Medical Records and administrative duties.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
