Summary of Position:
The Director of Community Center Program is responsible for the overall supervision and accountability related to all aspects of community center operations, including staffing, programming, contractual obligations, budgets, and community relationships. The Director will have an exceptional understanding of the Beacon and Cornerstone Community Center mission and purpose, as well as contracts and program outcomes. In addition, Director will serve as the primary liaison between program, other CHFS programs, and other community constituents.
Summary of the Agency:
The Coalition for Hispanic Family Services is a multi-service agency serving children and families of North Brooklyn and Queens. These include foster care, adoption, family support, youth development, mental health, case management, community health education and outreach, and in-service internships.
The duties of the Director are as follows:
- Oversee all aspects of administration and operation of Beacon and Cornerstone programs, including budgets.
- Responsible for program reports, including strategic plans, fiscal reports, program narratives.
- Participate in interviews and hiring of all staff and address personnel issues as needed.
- Provide supervision in individual and group settings for program managers.
- Design program and ensure coverage of contracted roles in compliance with DOH.
- Provide approvals on space requests, events, and co-locators.
- Oversee and ensure a robust roster of events that occur annually at the center.
- Ensure community advisory board meeting compliance.
- Timely reporting and submission of DYCD reports and queries.
- Manage budgeting and reporting across all sites.
- Oversee the planning and execution of extended hour summer camps.
- Assure the accuracy of approved employee work hours.
- Ongoing supervision of mandated trainings and compliance documents.
- Collaboration with stakeholders and community constituents.
- Create best practices rooted in youth development, leadership, and adult literacy.
- Attend and participate in weekly senior management meetings.
- Collaborate with CHFS Senior managers to facilitate and ensure program cross referrals.
- Draft grant proposals for initiatives that increase program capacity.
- Perform administrative tasks independently and ensure timely reporting.
- Provide referrals and support families experiencing challenges.
- Collaborate with school administrators, city and community stakeholders.
- Work closely with Human Resources to ensure compliance of personnel documents.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in social work, youth development, education or related fields, preferred. Five (5) years supervisory experience in a similar role working in a diverse urban community. Strong community engagement skills. A flexible schedule is required. Possesses strong collaborative skills and be a team player. Ability to problem-solve in a time-sensitive, fast-paced, changing environment that requires exceptional prioritization skills and extraordinary time-management. Flexible schedule is required. Bilingual-Spanish is preferred.
Salary:
$80,000-$110,000
