Astronics-PECO is looking to hire a journeyman maintenance technician. This position will be joining our established team of maintenance technicians and helpers to care for our manufacturing facility and equipment. The work performed will include installing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing manufacturing equipment. Our Maintenance Department supports our Assembly, Casting, CNC, Facilities, and Molding Departments. We are located in picturesque Clackamas, Oregon near the foothills of Mt. Hood. We design, certify, manufacture, and sell a wide range of products to commercial, government, and military markets throughout the world. Our highly engineered aircraft interiors and structural aerospace products are supplied to the largest aircraft manufacturers and are installed in aircraft around the globe. Our military products are used in critical national defense applications. The Max-Viz enhanced visions systems (EVS) are designed and certified for use as a visual aid to improve safety in a vast array of airplanes, helicopters, and unmanned-aerial-vehicles. PECO-Controls are well established temperature control devices designed for applications in the hospitality industry, commercial cooking, and other critical applications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform journeyman level work in specialty craft trades such as electrical, fabrication, machining, hydraulics / pneumatics, HVAC, or production machinery repair.
- Maintain, adjust, troubleshoot, repair, and install mechanical, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, HVAC, and all other equipment in the facility and including the facility.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computer-controlled machinery such as: Automated Die Cast Machinery, Haas, DMG Mori, Matsuura, Mazak, and Toyoda CNCs.
- Install, maintain, adjust, and repair production and facilities fixtures.
- Wire and maintain electrical heating and regulating systems for plastic and metal forming molds.
- Perform safety inspections to meet or exceed OSHA requirements.
- Perform building remodeling, maintenance, and repair as needed.
- Perform maintenance and safety checks of compressed air system and gas heating system.
- Operate, Maintain, and repairs a variety of forklifts and man lifts.
- Set up and operate the full range of shop equipment and machines of each trade.
- Work to close tolerances fabricating and machining.
- Use appropriate standards and specialized measuring and testing instruments.
- Able to communicate with peers, vendors and suppliers to obtain services, supplies and parts required to maintain the equipment and facility.
- Assist and train other personnel as needed.
- Attends Quality Manual Standards Training and applies Quality Standards accordingly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years journeyman maintenance experience, including industrial experience in electrical maintenance and repair, or the equivalent, required
- Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrical License, or greater, preferred
- EPA Universal Technician Certification (refrigeration), Preferred
- Knowledge of PLC systems and ability to program PLCs, Preferred
- Knowledge of CNC systems and ability to troubleshoot them.
- Ability to obtain a Forklift and man lift license.
- Physical ability to bend, lift, climb, stoop, kneel, or crawl throughout the work shift.
