Position Summary
Assist production supervisor in various daily activities, ranging from, but not limited to promoting labor efficiency, championing quality and sanitary objectives while supporting training needs as required. Responsible for performing required duties related to assigned area(s).
SQF (Safe Quality Food) Compliance
It is the responsibility of every employee to ensure that V & V Supremo’s food safety and quality management system complies with food safety regulations and SQF compliance. In turn, our customers are assured that the product has been produced, processed, prepared, and handled according to the highest possible standards.
All employees are required to comply and promote compliance with V & V Supremo’s food safety program and polices, including but not limited to:
Hazard Prevention: Help to keep all work areas clean and free of unsafe obstacles.
Educate: Educate yourself and others on the correct standard operating procedures for the task you are responsible for.
Accountable: It’s your responsibility to understand and comply with the Company’s SQF policies and procedures
Report Food Safety Issues: It is your responsibility to communicate any food safety and quality problems to your supervisor to initiate action.
Training: Attend all required training and pass all necessary knowledge or skill based evaluations.
Five Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for monitoring milk/cheese processing quality, consistency, and ensuring company quality and safety standards (moisture, temp, & etc).
- Assures that all needed documentation and required shift forms are properly completed (process charts, logs, cheese vat time schedule etc.) and also responsible for tracking/reporting of all shift inventory usage (MRP/WMS) to proper personnel.
- Responsible for setting up and running all production equipment such as; Vemag, FM251, HTST pasteurizer, homogenizer, Rapid Pak (RP-55), Ross IN850, Ijet, Hitachi, in the various production areas (processing, packaging, forming and shipping & receiving) as assigned.
- Responsible for reporting all product abnormalities as well as any equipment or material issues to management immediately.
- Responsible for maintaining, proper machine functioning, some troubleshooting and cleaning of the machines.
Key Activities
When assigned to one or more of the following area(s) operators key activities are as follows;
Key Activities – Packaging
- Maintain packaging machine operation throughout the day.
- Perform machine changeovers per packaging schedule.
- Perform machine Preventative Maintenance schedule.
- Maintain packaging machine in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Operates and sets up packing machine with correct machine settings, correct film, material, labels and code date.
- Responsible for proper package seal.
- Monitor equipment operations efficiency throughout the day.
- Responsible for operating company specified food safety check points.
- Operate double-chamber machine.
- Follow all position related GMP’s, sanitation procedures, and quality procedures as set forth by QA and/or supervisors.
- Help develop and train hourly production staff.
- Responsible for following Safety (OSHA) regulations and procedures.
- Maintain sanitation standards throughout the area.
- Complete all required Master Sanitation schedule activities.
- Responsible for any other activity as directed by supervisor.
Key Activities – Processing
- Operates and is knowledgeable of the pasteurizer & homogenizer.
- Sets temperature according to pasteurizer milk ordinance (PMO) and company procedures.
- Knowledge of CIP procedures.
- Fill and explain chart process (pens), maintains & update process charts daily and enters receiving information into database (Excel).
- Addition of components as required by company procedures.
- Responsible for any other activity as directed by supervisor.
Key Activities – Forming
- Operates and ensures proper use & configuration of V-Meg and mixer according to product schedule.
- Addition of components as required by company procedures.
- Monitors moisture according to company procedures.
- Responsible for any other activity as directed by supervisor.
Key Activities – Shipping and Receiving
- Monitors, checks and receives milk and cream deliveries (using proper safety and receiving procedures), performs antibiotic test and prepares milk according to product schedule.
- Follow company procedures for counting all incoming and outgoing shipments (ASC, Bill of Lading & etc.)
- Checks chemical inventory and orders chemicals for sanitization as required.
- Responsible for filling, explaining chart (pens), maintaining & updating charts daily and enters receiving information into database (Excel).
- Knowledge of CIP procedures
- Addition of components as required by company procedures.
- Responsible for any other activity as directed by supervisor.
Key Activities - All Areas
- Effective communication with supervisors, drivers, employees, quality assurance and maintenance.
- Responsible for troubleshooting production machinery.
- Operate Handheld Scanner per WMS/MRP procedures
- Must be able to read, document and control product within company/customer specifications.
- Responsible for complying with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position.
- Follow GMP’s, sanitation procedures & SOP’s as set forth by company.
- Takes product samples as required.
Performance Metrics
- Effective communication with key internal interface personnel.

Skills Required
- Ability to lead group and make decisions.
- Basic math skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to speak conversational Spanish.
- Employees must be able to do everything in class V, IV, III & II.
- Able to speak, write, read and follow instructions in English/Spanish.
- Chemical Handling training (if assigned to area that requires Chemical handling)
- Forklift certification (if assigned to area that requires use Forklifts)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $26.51 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
