With our established reputation, commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service, we are seeking an experienced BIM/Virtual Design HVAC Pre-Construction Specialist to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY
The BIM/VDC Pre-Construction Specialist is responsible for providing 3D BIM support of existing and new construction projects including modeling of HVAC mechanical piping, ductwork, and plumbing systems. This position will be required to produce highly accurate, detailed, and constructible drawings.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide support to the VDC department by developing various construction drawings, including but not limited to sheet metal shop drawings, mechanical pipe shop drawings, plumbing shop drawings, hanger shop drawings, and miscellaneous sketches such as floor/wall sleeve and equipment layouts.
· Work directly with Designers, General Contractors and MEP trade partners to generate 2D drawings and 3D models.
· Produce accurate and detailed project shop drawings reflecting current and accurate information.
· Review submittals for accuracy and compliance, incorporate into model and drawing accordingly.
· Maintain project drawings and ensure field staff has most up to date drawings. Communicate with field personnel to ensure accuracy and respond to inquiries as required.
· Identify and implement the most efficient layout based on designer drawings to reduce and limit labor costs and ensure seamless installation.
· Draw HVAC systems to specification and code requirements; provide necessary information to project management team.
· Review contract documents, identify issues and develop solutions in coordination with the project team.
· Actively participate in BIM coordination and design meetings.
· Manage project folder organization and file sharing internally and externally as needed based on contract requirements.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the MEP industry. Engineering or Construction related degree preferred but not required.
· Proficient experience in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
· Strong understanding of design and document coordination.
· Knowledge of the appropriate codes and standards which govern design and operating requirements.
- Working familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including Outlook, MS Teams, and SharePoint.
- Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to coordinate project activities and monitor progress to successfully reach project goals.
· Ability to analyze problems, assess options and make recommendations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $125,000.00 per year
