We are welcoming a new and fantastic dental surgical assistant to our team. Ideally a few years of sedation experience. You will join Dr. Bryce, Dr. Heinkel and Dr. Mack and our amazing hygienists and team who are both great educators and technicians in a Fee For Service (FFS) & Out of Network PPO office. We generally have two doctors each day and two or three hygienists working on the same day. It is a core goal of our office to spend time with the education of our patients and be thorough with our care. You main job duty will be assisting to keep our office well prepared and on time. As an example we schedule 60 minutes for a PX and 120 for a New Patient Exam. Depending on the schedule each hygienist will see between 4 and 8 patients each day. Doctors will see 6-12 patients on average. We are NOT a rush them in and out office, quality care is our primary goal. Expect to get educated here. Our office protocol is medically and health based designed, and while we provide many similar hygiene services the way we educate our patients is unlike most dental offices. Familiar assisting with surgical procedures, pill and IV sedation would be ideal.
The ideal applicant to target for this position should be a mature individual that has excellent communication skills and enjoys the team concept of educating patients. They need to get along with our office tribe and all doctors, hygienists, assistants and front office who all feel a sense of co-ownership in the office and how we treat each-other. Team players who build each other up and do things not asked of them do well and thrive in our office. Most who have, are still here, 10-30+ years later!
Wage: Starts between 20.00-23.00 per hour based on surgical experience, raise at 90 days based on performance and may be higher based on experience.

The objective of our chairside assistants should ideally be to facilitate patient flow and in room care. One of the most important goals is to provide our doctors and hygienists enough time to discuss new advances in comprehensive periodontal, restorative, and aesthetic care by having rooms and items needed for treatment ready to go.
Assistant Duties:
- Pre-Day Schedule Planning to Review incoming patients to evaluate proper treatment for the day plus ready treatment plans for any expected or unscheduled dental/hygiene care.
- Room preparation
- Greet and sign them in to be called back for their procedures. It is the hygiene coordinator’s job to inform patients of the procedures they are having done that day and answering any initial questions they may have.
- Initial medical review of changes to any medical/dental histories.
- Taking, processing, and digital mounting of X-rays
- Capturing photos on intra-oral camera
- Taking and pouring impressions (i.e.; bleaching trays, working models)
- Assisting doctors or hygienists as needed during administration of anesthetic, , chairside treatment, charting, sealants, and exams
- OHI, nutritional counseling, fluoride application, smoking cessation and wellness as needed.
- Giving handouts and facilitating web-site navigation on topics brought up during the day's visit
- Scheduling continuing-care appointment
- Scheduling supportive periodontal treatment
- Entering proposed treatment
- Securing financial arrangements on all new treatment (working with front office)
- Entering charges on completed treatment
- Escorting patients to financial coordinator
- Decontaminating treatment rooms
- Instrument sterilization
- Schedule new appointments and maintain recall hygiene schedule.
- Making calls and sending out letters to people on the missed recall report
- Recovering last minute cancellations, otherwise overlooked by the administrative staff
- Answer phones and perform other customer service duties.
