JOB TITLE: Intermediate Assistant Principal
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
SUPERVISES: Assigned staff within his/her building
LENGTH OF CONTRACT: 205 Days
QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful teaching experience

Master’s Degree in School Administration.

Valid Indiana administrator’s license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Works with the building administrator in overseeing student discipline and school safety.

Implement and monitor school-wide behavioral expectations and policies including monitoring attendance trends and overseeing truancy interventions; address safety and welfare issues by holding meetings with parents, investigating incidents, documenting findings, contacting proper authorities and conforming to legal requirements and regulations.

Performing management functions assigned by the principal.

Promotes a school environment that is safe and conducive to student learning.

Assists in ensuring that Board policies and procedures are implemented and followed at the school.

Encourages staff to continue to grow professionally and to experiment with new approaches or strategies to teaching.

Assists in the recruitment and selection of employees.

Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.

Supervises and evaluates teaching staff and other building employees in accordance with the school district's evaluation plan, and makes recommendations regarding goals, areas needing improvement and continued employment.

Assist in the implementation and supervision of extra-curricular activities.

Assists the principal in supporting best instructional practices in the building.

Administer and oversee the after school extracurricular activities and attend evening school events.

Oversees the standardized testing for the building.

Supports special education in assisting with the needs of students with exceptional needs and serving as case conference chair as assigned.

Supports the principal in building positive relationships with students and parents and staff.

Assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal.

Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the principal.
