Gorilla Mind, a leading performance supplements and energy drinks brand, is searching for an experienced Field Sales Manager for the Texas market, to play a lead role in the aggressive retail expansion and development/implementation of regional sales support programs that optimize beverage sales and distribution within the Convenience Channel that aligns with the core business objectives of Gorilla Mind. In conjunction with the Senior Director of Sales, this role will work closely with senior leadership and other leaders to communicate the needs of key distributors and/or retail customers, sales plans, inventory requirements, marketing opportunities, and any other aspects that impact the company achieving its business objectives to ensure the brand gains meaningful traction in the market on time within budget.
The Field Sales Manager should bring in-depth knowledge and understanding of the beverage industry and market including a deep understanding of competitive brands and products. This person must have experience working with DSD partners and bring strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution and customer service skills and be able to navigate the dynamic beverage marketplace and ultimately gain shelf and display space for Gorilla Mind products, and ensure that both shelf space and display space continues to grow and achieve meaningful market share.

Duties and Responsibilities:*
- Responsible for maximizing sales, distribution and displays of Gorilla Mind products from a regional level by increasing brand awareness through distribution and partnerships (primarily Convenience, with some possible FDM and Distribution channel overlap).
- Perform weekly account sales calls as designated to enable the building/maintaining of key retail and distributor relationships, as well secure new distribution/display placements.
- Take steps to improve the conditions and merchandising of Gorilla Mind products in various accounts by building displays, resetting coolers, and placement of point-of-sale items to increase visibility of the brand.
- Achieve specified rolling 60-day sales goals set by the Sales Director measured by KPI’s.
- Take the lead role in driving sales velocity in stores within assigned regions through awareness and in-store tactics.
- Manage multiple distributors within the region(s) to drive volume, distribution and display execution.
- Deliver weekly sales recaps showcasing progress vs KPI’s (new placements, display execution and/or other sales-driving activities).
- As assigned, execute event activations such as tastings/samplings and grass-roots events to generate brand awareness - report on the outcomes from these activities.
- Monthly meetings with field managers for key retailers to gain support for in store execution(displays,promotions) sold in at the buying office, and share business updates.
- Attend distributor monthly meetings to share business results and set objectives for the upcoming month / drive period.
- Track progress and execution in all identified accounts and against specific programming goals in collaboration with the Corporate Team and its distributor/retail partners.
- Foster productive relationships with local buyers to drive incremental programming and POD placement while collaborating internally with the Gorilla Mind team.
- Manage key regional customer relationships, including new item authorizations, quarterly presentation, category reviews, performance tracking and data storytelling.
- Regular travel in the market to service retailers and distributors; occasional travel for meetings and trainings, including training distributor sales reps and/or retail partners on our products to educate them on our brand, products
- May be periodic requirements to work weekends and/or holidays to support the needs of the business in the market.
- By working with internal and external teams, ensure proper forecasting and inventory support from Supply Chain based on promotions and incentive strategies in the market.
- Lead weekly regional calls with the team and be poised to potentially grow and lead the future regional team.
- Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop key relationships.
Requirements:
- At least 4-7 years CPG experience in beverage sales.
- Creative problem solver and solution/results oriented.
- Self-motivated and can work independently and proactively to resolve issues, take ownership of tools and processes, and lead with minimal supervision.
- Strong planning, interpersonal, executional, and customer service skills.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Passion for beverage category and health and fitness/nutritional supplements.
- BA/BS or equivalent University degree.
Physical Requirements:
- Travel will vary month to month - and the ability to travel up to 75%.
- The ability to sit, stand, walk, and type for long periods of time.
- The ability to communicate (written & verbal) in a remote work environment.
- Sufficient in Microsoft office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Some lifting and movement of moderate loads that may require up to 50-lbs of lifting.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $75,000-90,000/year depending on experience. The total compensation package may include performance bonuses, benefits, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
