Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, taking patient X-rays, breaking down and setting up rooms using sterile procedure, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Duties:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures.
- Take digital patient X-rays as directed by the dentist
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment disinfection
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Utilize Dentrix dental software for scheduling appointments and navigating patient chart to access xrays and periocharting.
- Ordering supplies from multiple companies
Skills:
- Proficiency in digital X-rays, Dexis system preferred
- Experience with dental assisting techniques including coronal polish, making temporary crowns and bridges, and sterilization of instruments
- Understanding of OSHA and of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
